In light of getting old again! I was on a never-ending journey to find the perfect eye cream, to keep the signs of age at bay.
I’m going to be writing a series of articles reviewing different eye creams. Battle of the eye creams, let the games begin. We know that being in your late 20's actually F#@^ing rocks however; looking older doesn't necessarily.
I'm sure you know how delicate the skin area around the eyes is, so it is absolutely crucial that it’s taken care of properly. My number one rule has always been keep out of the sun. Even though I'm a bit of a sunshine hag, the sun has harmful effects and damaging effects for skin. Not only is exposure to sun, opening doors for sunburn, premature aging, skin damage and gnarly sun spots but also the big one-skin cancers.
On my quest to find the perfect eye cream I decided to try out Vichy Liftactiv Serum 10 Eyes and Lashes:
What doesn’t sound better than smoothing fine lines and wrinkles AND elongating eyelashes? I was excited to try this product, as I had only ever heard good things about all Vichy products and read good reviews.
Here’s why I loved it:
- Fast absorbing
- Wearable under make-up
- Doesn’t sting the eye area
- Contoured eye area
- Thickens eyelashes
Overall I was impressed, and I did see a difference – my eye area was a lot more elastic and I found that the serum really softened my fine lines. Although this product is an eye serum and you’re apparently supposed to use an eye cream on top of it – I didn’t bother but still found it effective.
Although dark circles are not really a struggle for me, I did notice it kept me looking fresh – always!
I’m not going to say it made my eye lashes longer, because I don’t know. I have naturally blonde eyelashes, which I can hardly even see when I’m not wearing mascara, it’s hard to tell. However, I did find it thickened my lashes and made them pop out especially when I did wear mascara.
For just under R400 at Dischem, not only is this divine bottle of magic good value for money, it also last ages.
I'm giving this eye cream a 9/10. I'd buy more of it, in a flash.
